Men’s Non-Violence

FSA offers a Men’s nonviolence class conforming to State of Idaho Guidelines from the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victims’ Assistance. The class is based upon the Duluth Model Curriculum.

Objectives of Nonviolence Class for Men

  • Identify goals to reach a nonviolent lifestyle.
  • Identify abusive behaviors and each member’s pattern of abuse.
  • Explore the intents of abusive behavior and the belief system that supports those behaviors.
  • Understand the connection of painful and negative feelings to beliefs about women’s and men’s roles.
  • Identify the function and extent of member’s minimizing, denying or blaming.
  • Fully explore the impact of violent and abusive behaviors on partners, children and class members.
  • Identify and practice non-abusive behaviors.

Each week participants will be challenged to participate in group discussions and discuss reasons and beliefs about topics.

Class Schedule:
Classes are held Tuesdays from 7-9:00 pm. Check-in at 6:45 pm. You must be registered and have an intake prior to attending.
State requirements are met by a 52 week class schedule for participants.

Attendance Requirements:
Throughout the 52 week rotation, a participant may have four absences that are arranged in advance.

Fee Schedule:
$15 per week payable in advance. If payment is not made, attendance will not be permitted.

Enrollment and Registration:
Prior to enrollment, each group member must have an intake appointment at a cost of $50. Clients will be asked to sign a contract at time of intake.
All classes are facilitated by a male/female team with training and experience in Men’s Nonviolence classes.
